The Naked Truth About Success

February 15, 2012

On Tuesday 1 November 2011,  105,979 dedicated and excited racegoers were treated to a fantastic day of racing for the 2011 Emirates Melbourne Cup Day.

In the narrowest of margins in the 151 year history of the Melbourne Cup, Dunaden and Red Cadeaux went head-to-head for the final 50m, resulting in an extremely close photo finish, with the crowd forced to wait an agonising three or four minutes to display the result.

The official winning margin was a nose – although as you can see from the photo, the margin was more likely a nose hair– and Dunaden was declared the winner.

Dunaden’s connections were awarded the prestigious Melbourne Cup trophy and the winner’s cheque of $3,600,000.

Red Cadeaux’s connections received the runner up’s cheque of $900,000.

This result beautifully illustrates the naked truth about success.

On Melbourne Cup day Dunaden was not four times better than Red Cadeaux . It  won by the smallest ever margin and yet won four times more prize money than Red Cadeaux.

Winning in retail is exactly the same as winning in horse racing.

You only need to be a tiny bit better than your competition to win the big prize.

The smart thing is to know . . . . . . . . .  what you need to do and how to do it!

What are you waiting for?
