The Importance Of Fundamentals

Every unsuccessful retail business does not perform the fundamentals of retailing well enough, or at all. There are no exceptions!

Your level of success in retailing is directly proportional to how well and how consistently you perform the fundamentals. There are no exceptions!

Why are fundamentals so important?

Because without them we stand very little chance of success.

Knowing what the fundamentals are in our chosen area of endeavour , and practising over and over until they become second nature is what separates the amateur from the professional.

Unsuccessful people blame everyone / everything else for their luck of success.

Unsuccessful businesses don’t repeatedly practise doing the fundamentals that make a big difference. Instead, they make excuses.

  • “It’s the media’s fault; all they ever write about is doom and gloom”.

  • “I can’t get reliable staff”.
  • “There’s not enough free parking”.
  • “I can’t be everywhere at once”.
  • “Customers don’t want to spend”.
  • “I’ve got too much paperwork”.
  • “My advertising isn’t working”.

When you and your staff practise the fundamentals of retailing until they become a habit you will have a professional business. You will be in control of your destiny and success will follow as surely as day follows night.

You will attract more customers.

Your customers will do the advertising for you.

You will make more profit.

You won’t have to be present all the time for your business to run perfectly.

You can start relaxing and enjoy your life.
